Blogging for Bitcoin – How to Generate Cryptocurrency Revenue Through Effective Content Marketing

I don’t know how many gyms have used this phrase in their advertising, but just because it isn’t original doesn’t make it irrelevant: Summer bodies are built in winter. Before COVID, this was a much less complicated concept. Lots of people join gyms during winter than at any other time, particularly right after the holidays.

With the recent upsurge of interest in cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin in particular), I thought it prudent to tackle the subject from the perspective of content marketing. By the time I’m done, you will probably be amazed at how well the two fit together. I would even hazard a guess that many reading this piece have yet to tap the potential in what I’m about to suggest.

As I’ve said many times before, it really doesn’t matter what business you’re in, any – and I do mean any – industry or niche can benefit from basic content marketing strategies like blogging, email, social media, etc. Since I could (and eventually will) fill an entire blog post with information on all those things, let’s first zero in on the one that touches and enhances all the rest: blogging.

Cryptocurrency blogging is one of the most powerful tools for earning Bitcoin. It might surprise you to learn that a blog can be monetized for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in very much the same way it can be monetized to generate other kinds of revenue. It mostly boils down to things like ad placement, promotion, and being on the right ad and content networks.

That last one is most important, and I will give you some advice on it in just a few moments. Before I do, though, I want to drop this particular thought into your head:

Multifaceted Earning Potential

When you monetize through traditional channels, you make money once. When you monetize with Bitcoin, an entire new avenue (well, let’s be honest – it’s a whole lot of avenues) to multiply your investment emerges. You might be able to reinvest ad revenue, but growing it without producing more supporting content is nearly impossible. This is simply not the case with Bitcoin.

Like other forms of currency, Bitcoin can be invested, saved, and traded. The difference between Bitcoin and more traditional forms of currency, though, is in its versatility and ease of use in all the aforementioned ways. You can literally earn Bitcoin through blogging and immediately reinvest or trade with it, potentially increasing the return on investment for your content creation without having to reinvest in more content.

Using Your Blog to Earn Bitcoin

Like I said, the mechanics of setting up your blog to earn in Bitcoin are about the same as any other monetization strategy; you’re just using different tools. Let’s take a look at some of those tools and how you can integrate them into Bitcoin blog writing to maximize profit.

Paid-To-Click Networks – Just like Yahoo, Bing, and Google AdWords, there are sites that pay in Bitcoin for specific actions, like clicking ads or visiting specific pages or websites. Some pay nominal amounts for even basic engagement (clicking links, viewing pages and staying there for specific amounts of time, etc.). These amounts are negligible, but with enough traffic, it adds up. You can find site descriptions and reviews for some of the more popular ones here.

Like traditional PPC/CPC network, PTC ads you place on (or motivate people to click via) your blog content result in earnings for you. There are both inbound and outbound ad networks around which you can build blog content to encourage ad engagement.

Bitcoin Faucets – Bitcoin faucets account for over half of all the traffic to leading Bitcoin sites. By and large, they distribute small amounts of Bitcoin to users for visiting ads, taking quizzes, or completing surveys. While considered controversial by some, the earning potential with Bitcoin faucets can be significant, especially with aggressive marketing.

Established brands do better with this from the get-go, but you can build revenue this way the same way you do with any other marketing effort. Proper, aggressive, and consistent promotion through great content is the name of the game, especially if you are the one placing the ads.

Here is how Bitcoin faucets work:

Faucet sites reward visitors for clicking through to and spending time at their sites. Those sites typically feature advertisements. The advertisers pay the owner of the faucet to display their ads with advertising feed calculated on a cost per thousand (CPM) impression basis.

What that means is that if a faucet site attracts more traffic and if each site visitor spends a significant amount of time on the site, the owner earns more money from the ads. The goal is to offer incentives that attract more visitors who, in turn, return regularly to claim those rewards. Repeat visits are the name of the game here.

How this relates to blogging is simple. If you seed your blog posts with links to faucet sites, you generate clicks to them. If you mention the same faucet in multiple blog posts, the more likely it is that loyal subscribers will continue clicking through. Promotional methods like email and social media can also up the number of people who see your content and click through to your preferred faucet.

What About Blog Topics?

So, here’s the $64 question: What the heck do you write about if your goal is to generate Bitcoin. There really is no such thing as dedicated “Bitcoin blogging,” but the concept is still legit. Simply put, the content you create to generate Bitcoin needs to be relevant to its intended audience, just like anything else.

While it’s helpful to zero in on cryptocurrency subjects, it might not always be the most effective strategy. The most effective strategy will always be aligning your content with your ads or with the anchor content on the faucet site to which you are attempting to drive traffic.

Don’t think that your blog needs to follow a single theme to be successful, but don’t post content that is too gonzo or covers too broad a spectrum of subjects, either. You don’t want to follow up a series of articles on investing with a piece about dog grooming, for example. Create content that makes sense and appeals to your audience. In this example, investing would obviously be a smarter choice of subject area than dog grooming.
